Scouting it out.

I had an overnight trip to KC this week, and as soon as I returned, we headed for the reception location to scout it out. We also met with the cake lady and sampled the goods; I promise, you will not be disappointed...

S-A-TUR-DAY NIGHT!

Mindy is a fabulous hostess and I can't wait to see what she has planned. It is so odd to not be included on the event planning...I'm feeling a little useless!

Mr. Wiser goes to the OK Bridal Show

So the bridal show actually made me feel pretty good about our progress. We were able to walk by several booths without stopping because we already had vendors signed up. We also got to visit with our baristas and sample the goods from their coffee bar. They are darling and the drinks were perfect! (And their disposable cups are 100% corn so they are compost-able. How green!)

He especially enjoyed the chocolate fountain! It was a nice reward for his helpfulness and patience.

Registry, Schmegistry

Okay, so registering is that fun. M.O.B. and I went to One Silver Place to pick out dishes, stemware, flatware, basically all things domestic and girly. The women were super helpful (even suggesting things I hadn't thought of...oh, happy day!). The ladies also said it was their first time to work with the new pattern...another first!

3 + 3 = 1?

So at the third bridal shop we went to, I purchased my third wedding dress and it is The One. "The Kellys" said it was the first time someone tried on and purchased that particular dress in Oklahoma. Of course, it's the one I cannot post...

Mindy joined us at the bridal shop, Hazel was not so interested...

Dress Shopping, Part Deux

Our second dress stop was Bella Rose, a new bridal shop in Edmond. There were a few contenders...but not The One. 

Thank goodness Mindy was there to assist, too.

Didn't make the cut.

So everyone knows I love J.Crew. They are my go-to store. I can always find a top there. They have my petite pants that don't drag (as much as the normal-size inseams). So of course I would want to try their wedding dress: it would be simple, elegant, just my style. Right?

Yeah, not so much.

06.12.2008: So it begins

Chris surprised me when I got home from work Thursday night: candlelight, roses, music...he got down on his knee and said some really sweet things (most of them I'm sorry I don't remember because I was in total shock). I got the gist of what he was saying and managed to eek out a "yes!" Then we were off to another surprise: a wonderful evening with our closest friends at a private party at the Coach House!

**I did warn Wiser that he might have set the bar too high from here on out**
