Miles of Memories

MOB's dear friends had the sweetest shower for me Saturday afternoon; the theme was "Miles of Memories" and they surprised me with all kinds of pictures and mementos from my past...

MOB, Chris's mom Sharon and I with the fabulous hostesses
(but still missing The One Who Went to Mexico)
Some nostalgia...(click for closeup):

The pretty decor and tasty treats:

Family and Friends:

And last but not in the least, Lily Rose's mom brought her along
so everyone got to enjoy some baby time, too...

A Hazy Sunday

Hazel Eve brought her mommy and daddy by for some food and fellowship Sunday evening. I think she wanted to show off her new 'do:
...or maybe her new tooth (again...clicky for closeup)!
We got some toys for a "Hazy basket" to keep her entertained when mom & dad come over. She loved the babydoll! It might not be to her 'tomboy' mom's tastes, but that's what godmommies are for, right?
This is my favorite pic from the night:

MOB and I also worked on some top secret projects for the rest of the evening. All will be revealed in time...

Cinnamon Roll, Round Two

I'm sitting here snacking on my leftover cinnamon roll from Kendall's yesterday, so I thought I would share some of the pictures from the party:

The Bass Family

The Wynn/Wiser Family

Chris' favorite dishes we received were McDonald's dishes from Hazel. They'll probably survive longer than any of the fine china we've been given...

My Always-Important, Ever-Present Support System
(aka Mindy & Sara)
Hazel Eve made the rounds and
I'm pretty sure won the popularity contest.

...I haven't had enough coffee yet to think up a clever title...

We had our first official shower yesterday afternoon and it was such a special time with family and friends. Chris' mom and sister really outdid themselves with the thoughtful decor and the staff at Kendall's was so generous, giving of their time and talents (and super yummy cinnamon rolls). Chris and I felt truly honored and blessed by everyone around us and totally overwhelmed by all the generous gifts.
I'll post some pics when I can get them off of MOB's camera...
Thanks to everyone who was there!

Bride Brain

That's what Mindy said it was called. I don't know where my head was this morning, but it was not on completing simple tasks, like dressing myself. These are the shoes I wore to work today:

...that's right, those are my house shoes. No, I did not mean to. It was "Bride Brain".

I'd rather be bowling...

Dad and Adam are headed to the Cotton Bowl while mom & I got left behind to plan a wedding. I would be more disappointed if we had longer than 5 weeks, but since we passed that mark yesterday...we better get to work!
Dad did make sure that I was properly attired for our E-town tailgate party.

I Love Candi

I hope you're all hearing the Bow Wow Wow song in your head, because I love Candi! And thank you, Wiser, for pointing out that the song is actually "I Want Candy", but for the purposes of this post, I'm re-writing the song....

Candi Coffman is our wedding photographer and we had an engagement photo session with her this weekend. She posted a few previews on her blog (http://candiphoto.blogspot.com) so be sure to check them out. I'm excited to see how she captures our wedding, too. I am so impressed with her and her vision. Be sure to give her some love (and maybe a few sessions, too)!

I don't want to steal Candi's thunder so go to her blog to see the rest. I love them all so it's hard to stop myself from posting all of them!

(Thanks, Mindy, for the heads up!!)

Glad it's not me!

Well, someone had to turn 30 first, I'm just glad it wasn't me! I have to get past this wedding business first, then maybe I'll be ready to face that milestone...
Saturday night a group of us went out for Sara's 30th birthday; Sara and I have been bestest buddies since we were 5 years old. Until I dig out some "then" pics, here's a "now":

"Tres Banditas"

My handsome escort for the evening (don't tell Wiser).

Making the Jump to Lightspeed

We have officially passed the 6 week mark. This week in the mail there were 2 (!) shower invites and already 15 returned RSVP's...things are definitely moving into high gear.
I had my first dress fitting yesterday; Mindy and Mandy were both able to be there with me and mom.

Since I can't post pics of The Dress, I'll share some pics of mom and I in HER wedding dress. It's in great shape and was actually a really nice fit, just not quite my style ;)
